Men’s Basketball Earns 2021-22 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its Team Academic Excellence Awards Tuesday, and the Princeton University men's basketball team were one of the recipients. Additionally, six Tigers were named to the NABC Honors Court.
In order to earn the Team Academic Excellence Award, teams must have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher for the 2021-22 season. To be named to the Honors Court, student-athletes must have a 3.2 GPA or higher, and have been a junior, senior, or graduate student.
Charlie Bagin (Operations Research & Financial Engineering), Drew Friberg (Politics), Ethan Wright (Sociology), Jacob O'Connell (Chemistry), Max Johns (Neuroscience), and Tosan Evbuomwan (Economics) were named to the NABC Honors Court.
The Tigers also had a successful season on the court in 2021-22. Along with winning the Ivy League Championship outright, Princeton defeated a pair of power five programs, South Carolina and Oregon State, and set four team records; most points in a season (2395), most points per game in a season (79.8), most field goals made in a season (910), and most three-point field goals made in a season (327). Additionally, the Tigers ranked fourth in the nation in Effective field goal percentage (56.7%), fifth in three-point field goals per game (10.9), fifth in three-point field goal percentage (38.7%), ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.53), 11th in scoring offense (79.8), and 14th in total three-point field goals made (327).
