Womn's Cross-Country Set to Compete at 48th Annual Paul Short Run Friday

Princeton's women's cross-country team is set to compete at the 48th Annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh this Friday. This race is notably one of the largest and most competitive invitational meets in the Northeast and a regular component of Princeton's preparation for the postseason. Princeton will have entries in both the Gold Race and Open race at this year's meet.

The Tigers are expected to compete against fellow Ivy League rivals Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, and Yale. In addition, several nationally ranked opponents are entered in the meet including #12 North Carolina, #16 Utah Valley and #18 Georgetown.

At last year's race in Bethlehem, Princeton competed in the Open race, claiming three of the top eight finishes with the 6-7-8 spots. Lucy Huelskamp (22:02.1) was sixth, Tsion Yared (22:03.5) was seventh, and Luci Doogan (22:05.9) was eighth.

"We are excited to compete against a large and highly competitive field this weekend," said head coach Brad Hunt. "There are several nationally ranked teams and nearly the entire Ivy League scheduled to attend. This will be an excellent check point for the team as we continue to build toward the championship season in October and November."

The 48th annual Paul Short Run will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the men's open 8k. The women's team will begin competition entering the gold 6k at 11:45 a.m.
