Caden Pierce Earns Second Ivy Rookie of the Week Award

IVY LEAGUE RELEASE
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its weekly awards Monday afternoon, and freshman Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team was named Rookie of the Week for the second time in the 2022-23 season.
Last week, Pierce helped the Tigers move to 5-1 in conference play with a 93-90 overtime victory over Dartmouth inside Jadwin Gymnasium on Saturday, January 21.
Pierce had a second-straight double-double and his third in the last four games, finishing with a career-high 17 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field and 7-for-10 shooting from the free throw line. His seven made free throws were a career-high and Pierce also tied his career-high in rebounds, leading the game with 13. Additionally, he tied the game-high in steals with two.
On the season, Pierce leads the team and ranks fifth in the Ivy League in rebounds per game with 6.4. His 16 steals are a team-high, and Pierce ranks fifth on the team in points per game with 7.6.
He was also named Rookie of the Week on Monday, January 9, and freshman Xaivian Lee also garnered the accolade on Monday, November 28, 2022.
The Tigers are in action next on Saturday, January 28, in New Haven, Connecticut, against Yale (13-6, 3-3).
