Matt Allocco Named Ivy League Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its weekly awards Monday afternoon and senior Matt Allocco of the Princeton University men's basketball team was honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week.
A member of the Princeton men's basketball team has been named Ivy League Player of the Week for two-straight weeks, as sophomore Caden Pierce received the honor on Nov. 13.
Allocco led the Tigers to a 2-0 record on the week. On Nov. 15 Princeton defeated Duquesne, 70-67, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then the Tigers earned an 82-57 victory over Monmouth in West Long Branch, New Jersey, on Nov. 18.
In both wins Allocco averaged 21.0 points-per-game on 76.2% shooting from the field and 85.7% shooting from three along with 4.5 rebounds. Additionally, Allocco handed out three assists.
At Duquesne, Allocco led the game with 23 points on 10-for-13 shooting from the field and 2-for-2 shooting from three. He also grabbed three rebounds and handed out one assist. Allocco followed that up with a game-high 19 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 shooting from three along with six rebounds and two assists.
Allocco and the Tigers are in action next in Norfolk, Virginia, at 4 p.m. on Nov. 22 against Old Dominion.
