Men's Track & Field Opens Indoor Season at TCNJ Invite and Sharon Colyear Invite

PRINCETON, NJ - The Princeton Men's Track and Field team is gearing up for an exciting opening weekend for indoor track and field. Scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd, the Tigers will kick off their season with dual participation in both the TCNJ Invite and the Sharon Colyear Invite. It marks the beginning of of the 2023-24 season and the men are ready to make their mark in these early meets, setting the tone for a successful campaign ahead.
The team welcomes 14 newcomers this season: Brian Boler, Collin Boler, Gianluca Branchi, Weston Brown, Jackson Clarke, Mike Dallal, Zac Della Rocca, Xaiver Donaldson, Christian Groendyk, Cole, Hoegl, Richard Lawson, Sebastian Martinez, Kavon Miller, Drew Mruk.
Last season, the men's indoor track team clinched their eighth consecutive Ivy League Indoor Heps championship with an exhilarating one-point victory over Harvard in Hanover, N.H. The competition came down to the last event, the 4x400 relay, where Princeton's second-place finish proved decisive in fending off the Crimson. This secured the 51st and final Heps title under head coach Fred Samara.
The men's track and field national championships of the 2022-23 saw Sondre Guttormsen capture his third national title of his career in the pole vault. Guttormsen cleared 6.0 meters (19-8 ¼) to not only set a new personal best and Princeton record, but also tie the national collegiate record as well.
