Caden Pierce Named Ivy Player Of The Week For Second Time In 2023-24

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its weekly awards Monday and sophomore Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team received the Ivy League Player of the Week award for the second time in the 2023-24 season. A Tiger has now won Player of the Week four weeks in a row.
Pierce shared the award with Clark Slajchert of the University of Pennsylvania, and led the Tigers to a 2-0 week, first defeating Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, 85-71, on Nov. 29 then Furman, 70-69, on Dec. 2 inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
On the week, Pierce averaged 22.0 points-per-game on 56.7% shooting along with 9.0 rebounds. He also handed out six assists and recorded four steals along with three blocks.
In the Tigers' victory over Bucknell Pierce finished with 22 points on 9-for-15 shooting, three rebounds, three blocks and two assists. He followed that performance up with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals against the Paladins. The double-double was Pierce's fourth of the season and the 11th of his career.
Pierce was also named Ivy League Player of the Week on Nov. 13 while senior Matt Allocco won the award on Nov. 20 and sophomore Xaivian Lee on Nov. 27.
