Olnowich Stops Career-High 36 as No. 11 Princeton Draws Dartmouth
January 12, 2024 | Women's Ice Hockey
Jennifer Olnowich stopped a career-high 36 shots and Annie Kuehl had a coast-to-coast game-tying goal as the No. 11-ranked Princeton women's hockey team played Dartmouth to a 1-1 draw on Friday night in Hanover, N.H.
A scoreless draw persisted through 45-plus minutes until a Caroline Appleyard breakaway resulted in the first goal of the night, putting the Big Green on top. Six minutes later, Kuehl picked up a rebound off a Dartmouth shot and went end-to-end before burying a shot under the crossbar from the bottom of the left circle to tie the game.
It stayed 1-1 the rest of the way on a night Princeton finished 6 for 6 on the penalty kill. The 36 saves surpassed the 30 that junior Olnowich had on Nov. 18, 2022 at Baker Rink against St. Lawrence in setting a career high.
Princeton outshot Dartmouth 77-73 overall while Olnowich's counterpart Hann Humphreys made 34 saves as the Big Green outshot Princeton on goal 38-35.
Princeton will head to Harvard to wrap the ECAC Hockey weekend in a 3 p.m. start on Saturday.
