Caden Pierce Named MBWA Player Of The Week For Second Time 2023-24

NEW YORK – The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) announced its weekly awards for games played Jan. 15 – 21 Tuesday morning and sophomore Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team was honored as Division I Men's Player of the Week for the second time in 2023-24.
The award, which encompasses players from 21 Met area Division I schools is Pierce's second of the season as he also received the honor on Dec. 4, 2023.
Pierce helped lead the Tigers to a 2-0 week. Princeton first defeated Dartmouth 76-58 inside Jadwin Gymnasium on Jan. 15 before it overcame Columbia inside Levien Gymnasium on Jan. 20, 70-62. Across the two wins, Pierce averaged 19.5 points-per-game on 60.9% shooting from the field along with 10.5 rebounds.
In the Tigers' win over Dartmouth he tallied 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting, 10 rebounds and three assists. Pierce followed that up with 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block. He's now recorded four-straight double-doubles, eight this season and 15 in his career.
In addition to now being a two-time MBWA Player of the Week, Pierce is also a three-time Ivy League Player of the Week as he received the Ivy league's top weekly honor on Jan. 2, 2024, Dec. 4, 2023, and Nov. 13, 2023.
