Princeton Scores Three In Loss To No. 5 Clarkson

PRINCETON, N.J.- Princeton's homecoming weekend carried on with festivities across campus. The Princeton women's ice hockey team was back in action with a 4:00 puck drop against the No. 5 Clarkson Golden Knights.
The two teams went back and forth on shots before Clarkson's Sena Catterall found the back of the net 14:32 into the first period.Â
The Tigers' keeper Jennifer Olnowich stopped nine shots in the first to keep Princeton within one goal heading into the break.
Just 37 seconds into the second, Catterall took advantage of a power play to double the Golden Knights lead before Anne Cherkowski made it 3-0 at the four minute mark.
Princeton pushed the pressure and Hannah Fetterolf tipped the puck in to get the Tigers on the board with her second career goal. Jane Kuehl and Maggie Johnson had the helpers for each of their first points of the night.
The final period was loaded with action as Cherkowski scored a quick power play goal.Â
Issy Wunder and the Tigers answered right back 23 seconds later and the feed from Emerson O'Leary and Mackenzie Alexander.
With 11:06 left on the clock, Clarkson's Madison Chantler pushed the Golden Knights' lead up to three.Â
Sarah Paul then took the puck up the ice for the score to bring Princeton back within two for her seventh goal of the season.
Looking to close out the game, Clarkson scored on an unassisted empty netter by Chantler to defeat Princeton 6-3.
Kuehl ended the night with two points and Olnowich made a season high 35 saves in net for the Tigers.

Princeton will head to Cambridge, Mass. to take on the Harvard Crimson with puck drop set for 6:00 PM on Nov. 8.
