Wrestling to Host #17 Stanford for Final Home Dual Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. – Approaching the end of the regular season, the Princeton wrestling team will close out home dual meet action by hosting #17 Stanford on Thursday, February 13th at 7:30 p.m. in Jadwin Gym.
The dual will also be senior night, as the program honors its eight seniors in the Class of 2025.

About the Tigers
- Princeton most recently fell to #9 Cornell on the road in Ithaca, 32-8, on Saturday.
- Senior captain Luke Stout and first-year Ethan Rivera won in the match, with Stout picking up his second-consecutive tech fall and fifth in the last seven.
- Before Cornell, Princeton had a 3-0 weekend with wins over Drexel, 24-13, and Ivy rivals Brown (36-7) and Harvard (44-0).
- Princeton is now 3-1 in the Ivy League after capturing another commanding win on the road at Columbia the weekend prior, 34-3.
- #16 Stout's performance at Cornell brings him to 10-1 on the season. The three-time NCAA qualifier is undefeated in his last seven matches, since his return to the mat in January. His only loss on the season was to Iowa's #1 Stephen Buchanan.
- #23 Marc-Anthony McGowan is 13-2 since starting the season at Midlands. The weekend prior, McGowan earned three tech fall victories in his three matches, including one against Drexel's #32 Desmond Pleasant. For his performance, McGowan was named Ivy League Wrestler of the Week on February 4th. The redshirt freshman has now earned a tech fall or a fall in six of his last seven matches, winning the only outlier by decision.
- #26 Kole Mulhauser has been strong as of late too, going 2-1 last weekend with a major decision over Brown's #27 Drew Reall and a tech fall over Harvard's Luke Rada. The sophomore is now 9-3 on the season, with two wins over ranked opponents.
- #25 Eligh Rivera has been on a tear, earning three wins last weekend with a major and a tech fall. Winning his last five, Rivera is now 14-4 on the season.
- #6 Ty Whalen has been consistent for the Tigers, as the sophomore captain is 15-1 on the season with his only loss to Rider's #15 Sam Alvarez. Last weekend, Whalen posted two tech fall victories and a decision.
- The Tigers are led by two-time national champion Head Coach Joe Dubuque, in his second season at the helm of the program. Joining Dubuque this year are two new assistant coaches - Cody Brewer, who comes to Princeton from Virginia Tech, and 219 NCAA Champion Anthony Ashnault, who is beginning his coaching career after an impressive collegiate wrestling career at Rutgers.
About #17 Stanford
- Stanford is 8-3 on the season and 1-2 in ACC action, most recently dropping a contest to #13 Virginia Tech, 13-30.
- Stanford had eight wrestlers ranked in the first NCAA coaches rankings released on January 23rd. These include #5 Tyler Knox (133), #22 Jason Miranda (141), #7 Jaden Abas (149), #22 Grigor Cholakyan (157), #10 Hunter Garvin (165), #4 Lorenzo Norman (174), #17 Nikolas Stemmet (197) and #31 Peter Ming (285).
- Knox is 19-3 on the season and Norman is 18-1, as they lead the squad in wins.
- Thursday will mark the first meeting between Princeton and Stanford since January 2017, with Stanford holding the 3-0 advantage in the series.
