PRINCETON, N.J. – Coming off a strong performance at home in Weaver Stadium, the Princeton men's track and field team will travel for the 44 Farms Team Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M, on Friday and Saturday.
Last weekend, the Tigers hosted the Sam Howell Invitational. Jacob Nenow highlighted the day as the first-year set a new program record in the 10000m, clocking in at 28:23.60.Â
His time crushed the previous record of 28:49.08 set in 2014 by Chris Bendtsen. Senior Nicholas Bendtsen was also under the previous record, running 28:25.21 just behind Nenow.
Casey Helm won the discus, throwing 60.03m/196-11". The victory marks the junior's third event win this season so far, and his second-consecutive week throwing over 60m.
Helm currently ranks sixth nationally in the discus with his mark of 61.67m/202' 4" from the Monmouth Season Opener.
Greg Foster currently ranks fourth nationally in the long jump with his Sam Howell mark of 7.84m/25' 8.75".
Jackson Shorten ran a 8:40.45 3000m steeplechase at Weaver, which puts him at 14th nationally.
Seb Clatworthy rounds out the Tigers in the top-20 on the NCAA list, holding the 18th spot in the high jump with a mark of 2.15m/7' 0.5".
Princeton is entering the outdoor season after winning its 10th-consecutive indoor and fourth-consecutive cross country title, looking to complete the Triple Crown this Spring.Â
At last year's Outdoor Heps, the Tigers achieved their 11th all-time Triple Crown at home in Weaver Stadium, winning Ivy Outdoor Heps for the 22nd time after compiling 204.5 points. The Triple Crown was also the first under Head Coach Jason Vigilante. Jackson Clarke was named Most Outstanding Track Performer after winning the 100 meters and the 200 meters while also helping Princeton finish second in the 4x100 meter relay.
