
Men’s Basketball Featured In All-Met Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) announced its postseason awards Wednesday morning and Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team was named Honorable Mention All-Met.
Pierce collects All-Met honors for the second time in his career, as he was named to the first team in 2023-24. Additionally, Xaivian Lee was named First Team All-Met.
Being named All-Met is a unique honor in that there are 21 colleges and universities, and more than 300 student-athletes, under the MBWA Division I men's umbrella.
2024-25 saw Pierce become one of five players in program history with over 1,000 points and 700 rebounds. He also moved up to No. 6 all-time in program history in rebounding (710) and No. 27 in scoring (1,069). Pierce was named Second Team All-Ivy League, Lute Olson National Player of the Week on Dec. 23 and a United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Oscar Robertson Trophy National Player of the Week on Dec. 23. He was also named Most Outstanding Player at the Jersey Jam on Nov. 8.
Pierce ranked second in the Ivy League in rebounding (7.2), ninth in assists (3.2) and ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.6). He had several standout performances, including on Dec. 21 when he recorded a double-double of 21 points on 10-for-17 shooting and 14 rebounds, including seven offensive, in the Tigers' win over Rutgers in the Never Forget Tribute Classic, along with on Jan. 20 when he tallied 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals at home against Columbia. On Jan. 18, Pierce had 19 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and two blocks in a road win over Dartmouth and 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in Jadwin Gymnasium on Jan. 25 against Cornell. Pierce received MOP honors at the Jersey Jam after accumulating 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting, five rebounds and two assists against Duquesne. In the Tigers' season opening victory over Iona on Nov. 4, Pierce finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists
