No. 4 Princeton Defeats No. 2 Penn, Wins Eighth Straight

Keeping its hopes for an Ivy League title and hosting the Ivy League Tournament in their hands, the No. 4-ranked Princeton women's squash team was a 6-3 winner over No. 2 Penn on Saturday at the Racquet and Recreation Fieldhouse.
With the win, Princeton clinched a bid to the Ivy League Tournament, which will be hosted Feb. 21-22 by the top women's seed. Hosting rights will come down to next weekend, with 4-0 Harvard going to 3-1 Penn on Saturday and 4-0 Princeton on Sunday, while Princeton will host 1-3 Dartmouth on Saturday and Harvard on Sunday while Penn hosts Dartmouth on Sunday.
The first wave of matches saw Princeton get a win from Sonya Sasson in five games at ninth position after going back and forth with Savannah Margot Ingledew, but Penn won at first and fourth position to hold a 2-1 lead in matches. Princeton turned that around in the second wave, with Sam Jaffe getting a three-game win at sixth and Liyen Teoh doing the same at eighth around Penn win at third as the teams headed into the final wave tied 3-3.
Alex Jaffe put Princeton on the edge of victory with a three-game win at second, and with Hermione Cao provided the clincher with a four-game win at eighth, bouncing back from a loss in her first game. Caroline Eielson added the final margin, taking a 2-1 lead in games at fifth and holding off an Alexandra Stoddard comeback bid to win in five.
