Tigers Slip Past Rider in Tight Contest

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton Baseball secured its second straight win over Rider, holding on for a 10–9 victory in a tightly contested matchup.
The Tigers struck first in the opening inning on an RBI double from Tomas Cernius. Brady Kaufman extended the lead with his first career home run in the third, helping Princeton build a 5–0 advantage, and later added another RBI to make it 6–0 in the fourth.
Cernius delivered again in the fifth with a three-run homer, pushing the lead to 9–0.
Rider mounted a late surge, scoring nine runs across the sixth and seventh innings to even the game, but Bennett Crerar responded with a home run in the eighth to seal the win.
James Beasley got the start on the mound, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings. Parker Codington earned the win giving up one run while striking out two, and Will Sword closed it out with a scoreless inning to earn the save.
Princeton returns to action this weekend, hosting Penn with first pitch set for 3 p.m. Friday, followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m.
