Tom Doran joins the men’s basketball program at Princeton for his first season as a Video Assistant in 2022. Doran comes to Princeton after spending three and a half years as a student manager for the men’s basketball program at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.. At Wake Forest, Doran’s duties included managing practice and gameday operations, travel, nutrition and hydration, filming practice, player development, and the operation of fellow student managers. During his time at Wake Forest, Doran assisted in the development of future NBA players including 2022 first round pick Jake Laravia (Memphis), 2022 ACC Player of the Year Alondes Williams (Brooklyn), Jaylen Hoard (Oklahoma City), Olivier Sarr (Portland) and Chaundee Brown (Atlanta). Doran spent his first two years working under head coach Danny Manning and his last year and a half under Manning’s successor, Steve Forbes, the 2021-2022 ACC Coach of the Year.
Doran hails from Princeton, New Jersey where he was a 2018 graduate of Princeton High School. Doran served as the staffing director for Hoop Group Elite Camps in East Stroudsburg, PA. In the role, he was responsible for staffing the camps with Division II, Division III, and AAU coaches. In the summer of 2020, Doran interned for Princeton men’s basketball where he aided in the organization of recruiting and evaluation of prospects. In the summer of 2019, Doran worked basketball camps at Providence, Princeton, and Wake Forest.
In December of 2021, Doran graduated Cum Laude from Wake Forest with a degree in Politics and International Affairs and a minor in Spanish.
