No. 20 Men's Cross Country Finishes 8th in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (10/3/14) - The Princeton men's cross country team finished 8th at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3.
The Tigers, ranked 20th in the nation, earned 255 points, ahead of ninth-place NC State (No. 16) and 10th-place Tulsa (No. 18).
Senior Sam Pons led the Tigers with a 12-place finish of 23:38.7. Junior Michael Sublette posted a time of 24:04.8 for 41st place. Originally missed in the timing was senior Mike Mazzaccaro, who ran 24:24.7 for 54th place. He was followed by classmate Matt McDonald ran 24:17.6 for 61st place. Junior Sam Berger and freshman Noah Kauppila finished together at 24:27, with Berger's time being the final scored time for the team.
Senior Eddie Owens and sophomore Jack Leahey also finished in less than 25 minutes.
Michigan (19) won the Blue Race with 97 points, followed by BYU (10), New Mexico (15). The top 10 teams are all nationally-ranked squads.
Princeton sends another group of harriers to the Paul Short Invitational, tomorrow, at Lehigh.
