2014 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's basketball team has announced its 2014 schedule, which includes nine games against teams that earned postseason berths a year ago.
"Our student-athletes come to Princeton to get the best of the best and we aim to provide that year in and year out,” said head coach Courtney Banghart. “We set the schedule again this season to offer the highest quality opponents in the preseason, within our region and nationally, to best prepare us for Ivy League play. This is a group that thrives on competitive opportunities and we are excited to get underway, on the hunt for the program's 12th Ivy League championship."
The Tigers open their season at Pittsburgh on Nov. 14. After a match-up against Duquesne on Nov. 16, Princeton welcomes Drexel to Jadwin Gymnasium for the first home game of the 2014-15 season on Nov. 19.
Later in the month, the Orange and Black travel to American (11/23) before heading south of the border for the Cancun Challenge on Nov. 27-29. The Tigers open tournament play against Wake Forest (11/27) before taking on Montana (11/28) and Charlotte (11/29).
Back in Jadwin to kick off December, Princeton hosts Georgetown (12/6) before once again hitting the road for a mid-week tilt with Michigan (12/9). After a showdown with Binghamton (12/13), the Tigers face Delaware (12/16), Portland State (12/19) and Monmouth (12/21). Closing out 2014 at the Fordham Holiday Classic, Princeton plays Hartford on Dec. 29 before meeting either the host Rams or Savannah State on Dec. 30.
Picking things up in the New Year, the Tigers are at Hampton on Jan. 5 before opening Ivy play against Penn on Jan. 10. Following a break for finals, Princeton embarks on its first Ivy road trip on Jan. 30-31 at Harvard and Dartmouth, respectively.
After conference contests against Columbia/Cornell on Feb. 6-7 and Brown/Yale on Feb. 13-14, the Tigers welcome Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale and Brown for a four-game home stand the weekends of Feb 20-21 and 27-28. Wrapping up the regular season on the road, Princeton travels to Cornell and Columbia on Mar. 6-7 before crossing the Delaware River to play Penn on Mar. 10.
