| Princeton extended its Levien Gym win streak to six games by pulling away in the second half for a 74-62 win Friday night at Columbia.
The win opens Princeton's first Ivy League road weekend before the Tigers head to Cornell for a 6 p.m. tip Saturday. Princeton used a 12-2 run starting after the eight-minute mark of the first half to climb out of a five-point hole and take a 31-26 lead, capped by a Clay Wilson 3-pointer with 4:09 before the half. Princeton again led by two at 44-42 with less than 14 minutes to go before embarking on a 12-2 run to take its first double-digit lead of the game just before the midway point of the half. The Tigers managed that lead well, never letting Columbia closer than nine points once the lead hit double figures. Princeton shot 58 percent in the second half including 6 of 9 from beyond the arc while holding Columbia to 39 percent from the floor after the break. Four Tigers finished in double figures with Hans Brase's 15 points leading the way. Ben Hazel scored all of his 13 points in the second half while Amir Bell chipped in 11 and Spencer Weisz 10. |
