EYE ON THE TIGERS
The Hockey Commissioners Association Rookie of the Month Steph Neatby will have her hands full this weekend as the Tigers take on No. 4 Clarkson and St. Lawrence, which rank second and third in the nation in scoring offense. This would be the first time the teams will could face Neatby as it was Alysia DavSilva in net for the games back in November. Neatby is 8-2-1 with a 1.33 goals against average and a .953 save percentage and helped Princeton to an 11-game unbeaten streak from Dec. 2 to Jan. 31 - which included three wins over ranked squads. Offensively, sophomore Karlie Lund has net 20 goals and adds 18 assists to rank seventh nationally in points per game. In fact, Princeton has five skaters in the top 50 nationally in points per game - more than any other team in the league. Senior Molly Contini adds 24 points while Carly Bullock leads the freshmen with 23. Seniors Cassidy Tucker and Kelsey Koelzer chip in 22 apiece.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
St. Lawrence enters the weekend with a 23-3-2 overall record and sits one point out of first place in the ECAC standings at 15-2-1. The Saints have won their last five games including matching 2-1 wins at Harvard and Dartmouth last weekend. The squad has three skaters in the top-10 in points per game: junior Kennedy Marchment (17-31-48), senior Brooke Webster (18-28-46) and junior Hannah Miller (13-28-41). Averaging 3.50 goals per game is the third most in college hockey. Limiting teams to 1.46 is also third best nationally. Sophomore netminder Grace Harrison has seven shutouts this season with a 1.56 GAA and a .926 save percentage.
THE PRINCETON/ST. LAWRENCE SERIES
Princeton holds a 31-27-3 edge in the all-time series with St. Lawrence. The Saints won the first meeting this season by a 3-1 score. THe teams met five times last year, after splitting the regular season the Saints visited Hobey Baker Rink for a three-game quarterfinal series - advancing with an overtime goal in Game 3.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Clarkson is ranked No. 4 in the national poll with a 21-4-5 record. With a 15-1-2 record in the ECAC, the Golden Knights are in first place, with a one-point lead over travel partner St. Lawrence. Clarkson had an 18-game unbeaten streak end on Jan. 20 in a 2-1 loss to Cornell, but have rebounded going 4-0-1 in their last five. The squad boasts the second-best scoring offense in the nation, averaging 3.60 goals per game led by senior Carly Mercer. Mercer ranks ninth nationally in points per game with 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in 30 games. Senior Genevieve Bannon adds 36 points on 12 goals and 24 assists, while junior defender Savannah Harmon and sophomore Rhyen McGill add 26 apiece. Eight other skaters are in double digits in scoring.
