October 13, 2018 | Field Hockey
Five different players scored for Princeton, highlighted by Julianna Tornetta's first career hat trick. Ali McCarthy also registered two tallies while six Tigers also snagged an assist. The team's 22 points in the game are tied for the 10th highest in a single game in program history.
The Tigers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Annabeth Donovan picked up a loose ball in front of the cage and slid it in just 1:50 into the game.
On its first corner of the game, Princeton executed it perfectly as Tornetta's first tally was a big blast from the top of the circle.Tigers Goal! Tornetta had another tally waved off during a corner as her foot was outside the circle. That's about the only thing to go wrong for Princeton as the sophomore added on to the lead with 10:30 to go. She was left open in the circle and MaryKate Neff found her for a hard shot that got through.Tigers Goal! What a blast from Julianna! It's her fourth of the season! Right before the half, Hannah Davey corralled a rebound and passed it to McCarthy. The freshman dribbled around the goalie and whipped it in. The Tigers finished with 18 shots in the first half and six corners.
Roth opened up the scoring in the second half with an impressive individual effort, getting around the goalie and securing her 10th goal of the year.
