No. 3 Princeton Takes on No. 9 Harvard In Big Ivy Showdown At Bedford Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 3 Princeton Tigers take on the other undefeated Ivy League squad in the No. 9 Harvard Crimson on Saturday (Oct. 20). The game will get underway at 12 p.m., and be streamed on ESPN+.

What's Going On:
- No. 3 Princeton honored its alumnae returning with a dominating 8-0 victory over the Brown Bears (4-8, 0-4 Ivy) on Oct. 13.
- Four different players scored for Princeton, highlighted by Julianna Tornetta's first career hat trick. Ali McCarthy also registered two tallies while six Tigers also snagged an assist. The team's 22 points in the game are tied for the 10th highest in a single game in program history.
- The Tigers' eight goals were the most they've scored since an 11-1 victory over Brown last year (Oct. 14). Princeton also held Brown without a shot, marking the first time it held an opponent without an attempt since Oct. 16, 2016 against Towson.
- The Tigers lead the Ivy League in penalty corners per game (8.21). They are second in defensive saves (six), assists per game (2.71), goals against average (1.12), goals per game (3.50), points per game (9.71) and scoring margin (2.30).
- Princeton's highest national rank (No. 4) is in penalty corners per game.
- MaryKate Neff's five defensive saves are first in the Ivy League and 3rd in the country.
- Hannah Davey's 0.57 assists per contest are second among Ivy players and 20th in the nation.
- Princeton has four players (Clara Roth, Sophia Tornetta, Julianna Tornetta and Neff) among the top 11 in the conference in points per game.
- Grace Baylis is second in the Ivy League in goals against average (1.16).
- The Tigers have two alums on the United States national team in Cat Caro '17 and Kathleen Sharkey '13.
- Sharkey has 145 caps for the U.S., highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She also helped the unit to a bronze medal in the Pan American Cup last summer, leading the tournament in scoring with five goals.
- Caro has made 15 appearances for the national squad, recording her first cap in January and her first international goal in April.
- Maddie Bacskai, MaryKate Neff and Elise Wong were named to the U.S. U-21 team in July while Sophia Tornetta was picked for the developmental squad.
- Princeton is 40-6-2 all-time against Harvard. The Tigers are 19-3 at home against the Crimson.
- The Tigers have won 23 of the last 24 meetings against the Crimson. Harvard's only win against Princeton came in 2016.
- No. 14 Princeton shut down a high-powered Harvard offense in a 3-0 victory over the No. 15 Crimson at Berylson Field.
- Harvard came into the game, first in the Ivy League in goals per game (4.08) and fifth in the country, but was shutout for the first time all season.
- Harvard is currently on a school-record nine-game winning streak, sitting at 12-1 overall and 4-0 in the Ivy League. The Crimson, at No. 9 in the national coaches' poll, have never been ranked higher at any point in program history.
- Harvard has two wins vs. ranked foes (No. 18 Maine and No. 23 Boston University) and its only loss has been against No. 3 Maryland.
- The Crimson are sixth in Division I in scoring (3.62 goals per game) and second in goals against average (0.77).
- Maddie Earle leads the Crimson in scoring with 12 goals and 26 points. Bente van Vlijmen is second with 10 goals and 25 points.
