In another matchup of national top-10 teams, Princeton's seventh-ranked women's hockey team will head to Las Vegas to play two games against fifth-ranked Ohio State Saturday and Sunday at City National Arena, the practice facility for the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights.
Ohio State holds a 6-5-2 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1999 and was last played in 2012. These will be the first games in the series played outside of Columbus and Baker Rink.
Princeton (10-3) enters the weekend ranking ninth in the nation in scoring offense at 3.31 goals per game, paced by Sarah Fillier's second-ranked 2.09 points per game and Carly Bullock's fifth-ranked 0.85 goals per game. Ohio State (10-4-4) ranks 14th nationally in scoring offense at 2.94 goals per game. These will be Princeton's fourth and fifth games against fellow top-10 teams this season, along with two against Cornell, ranked third and fourth at the times of the games, and one against Clarkson, ranked fifth at the time of the game.
The Buckeyes will be facing an ECAC Hockey League team for a third consecutive weekend of competition, with Ohio State getting a win and a tie at Colgate three weeks ago, a win and a loss against Cornell two weekends ago in Columbus, and now the Tigers in Las Vegas.
The games will be Princeton's last of 2019, and the Tigers will return to competition Jan. 3 and 4 against Saint Anselm at Baker Rink.
