Tigers Turn In Another Ivy Win, Top Dartmouth 3-0
October 02, 2021 | Women's Soccer
"Today's first half was our best opening 45 minutes this season," Princeton coach Sean Driscoll said. "The team was locked in from minute one and defensively created some turnovers high up the field, which started our offense. The second half, Dartmouth played with an increased intensity and disrupted our ability to play in midfield. Their pressure put us on our heels, but credit to our team for not conceding a goal. While it was a complete team effort, our back four of Lucy Rickerson, Morgan Wiese, Gracyn Kuerner and Madison Curry, and a standout performance from goalkeeper Grace Barbara, need to be highlighted. "
The win put Princeton at 9-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy, extending the team's overall winning streak to four games. During the four-game run, Princeton has outscored its opponents 17-1.
Princeton outshot the Big Green 14-6 overall and 8-3 on goal, and senior keeper Grace Barbara had her second solo shutout of the year, coming in back-to-back Ivy games along with last weekend's league-opening home win over Yale.
Gee opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game, taking a pass from Lily Bryant along the endline and sending it inside the left post.
