Connors Earns 100th Career Point as Tigers Draw at Providence

Mia Coene collected Maggie Connors' rebound just past the midway point of the second period and fired it home, putting Princeton on the board and earning the junior Connors her 100th career point as the Tigers played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at Providence to close the weekend.

Princeton's final weekend of play of 2021 will send the Tigers to Syracuse for a two-game series next Friday and Saturday.

Providence overcame a Princeton shot advantage earlier in the game to win that stat 56-55 overall and 34-31 on goal, with Rachel McQuigge stopping 33 shots to preeserve the tie.

Princeton's lead endured from Coene's goal with 9:35 to play in the second period until just 51 seconds remained in the game, as Providence pulled netminder Mireille Kingsley with more than two minutes to go in the third to gain the extra attacker, a move that paid off when Caroline Peterson scored inside the final minute.

Connors is the first Tiger to have 100 career points since former teammate Carly Bullock '20, who finished her career with 159.
