
Men's Basketball Falls at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – In a back-and-forth contest that saw 12 lead changes, the Princeton University men's basketball team suffered an 83-76 setback against Dartmouth, Saturday afternoon inside Leede Arena.
Senior Tosan Evbuomwan finished with a game-high 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting, along with a team-high nine rebounds and a team-high six assists. Senior Ryan Langborg added 15 points, making three three-pointers and moving up to No. 14 for most made three-point field goals in program history, tying T.J. Bray '14 with 135. Freshman Caden Pierce finished with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Pierce's four assists, three made three-pointers and three steals were both each season-highs.
The Big Green opened the game with a 10-0 run, but a layup followed by a three-pointer by Langborg got the Tigers on the scoreboard and made it 10-5 with 16:22 on the clock.
Princeton maintained its momentum; with 15:58 left in the half a three-point play by senior Keeshawn Kellman sparked an 8-0 run, that saw the Tigers take a 13-12 lead with at 13:21 following a jump hook by Kellman.
A dunk by Evbuomwan kept the Tigers in front, 18-17, with 10:22 remaining in the half but a 6-0 run by the Big Green saw Dartmouth take a 23-18 advantage with 8:19 on the clock. Shortly after, the Tigers would knot the score at 26-26 after an Evbuomwan jump hook and a Pierce three-pointer. Princeton would then take the lead, 32-31, at 3:33 with help from two more Pierce three-pointers.
Princeton would close the half out with a pair of free throws along with a coast-to-coast dunk by Evbuomwan, and take a 40-35 advantage into halftime.
Kellman opened the second half with a layup, but Dartmouth responded with a 12-0 run and surged ahead, 47-42, with 17:14 left to play. Evbuomwan stepped into a three-pointer with 16:55 on the clock, halting the Big Green's run and making it a 47-45 contest.
Soon after, Dartmouth went on a 9-0 run and gained a 58-47 advantage with 12:39 left to play. The Big Green's run was halted by freshman Deven Austin, who drained a three-pointer at 12:05, making it 58-50.
A 7-0 run by the Big Green put Dartmouth ahead, 65-50, with 10:08 left to play. Princeton responded with a 6-0 run, led by a pair of Austin free throws, and narrowed the deficit to nine, 65-56, with 8:10 remaining. Princeton continued to trim Dartmouth's lead, with a 5-0 run making it 67-61 at 5:21 following a pair of Evbuomwan free throws.
Soon after, Princeton made it a two-point game at 73-71 with 2:08 on the clock after a junior Matt Allocco layup and a Pierce dunk. Despite the Tigers' late rally, the Big Green held on for the 83-76 victory
