No. 5 Heavies Race For Carnegie Cup Vs. No. 2 Yale/No. 12 Cornell This Weekend

PRINCETON – The No. 5 Princeton Heavyweight Rowing Team welcomes the No. 2 Yale Bulldogs and No. 12 Cornell Big Red to Lake Carnegie for the Carnegie Cup on Saturday.
In the final race last Saturday, the Tigers 1V crossed the line at 5:33.5 in front of Harvard (5:38.3) to collect the Compton Cup.
This ended a Harvard streak of four straight victories over Princeton. The Tigers' last Compton Cup came in 2016. It was the highest-ranking victory in the regular season for the Tigers since defeating No. 5 Brown in 2019.
Princeton's varsity eight has not lost this season, dropping No. 6 Harvard, No. 14 Penn, No. 15 Navy, No. 16 Drexel, No. 19 Columbia, No. 20 Temple and No. 22 Georgetown.
In 2022, the Yale 1V crossed the finish line at 5:25.3 in front of Princeton (5:32.19) and Cornell (5:34.17), however the Bulldogs cut to the inside of a turn buoy and were disqualified. Princeton is looking for its first Carnegie Cup victory since 2013.
