
No. 11/13 Women's Ice Hockey Set To Open Conference Play

PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton women's hockey team will hit the road to kick off ECAC play with contests against the Yale Bulldogs and the Brown Bears. The Tigers picked up their first two wins of the season against Robert Morris with 18 goals between the two games. Princeton will look to replicate that offensive force in the team's first conference matchups of the 2024-25 season.

ÂPower Play Paul: Sarah Paul scored her first career hat trick on opening night against Robert Morris. She added a goal in game two on Saturday for four on the weekend, all of which came on power plays.
ÂRookies Are Rocking: Mackenzie Alexander currently leads the Tigers with six points from two goals and four assists. Angelina DiGirolamo was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week thanks to her four point game against Robert Morris. Four first-years scored their first career goals during opening weekend.
ÂMoving Up: With two dominant wins to open the season, Princeton is moving up the rankings. After being slated at No. 14 by both polls in preseason, the Tigers jumped to No. 11 in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live poll and No. 13 by USCHO.
ÂPrinceton In the PWHL: Sarah Fillier '24 was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft by the New York Sirens. She notched 30 goals and 13 assists in her senior season with Princeton. Claire Thompson '20 was selected third overall by PWHL Minnesota and earned second-team All-Ivy and third-team All-ECAC honors in her final year with the Tigers in 2020.
ÂCanada Connection: Mackenzie Alexander and Sarah Paul teamed up on the ice together this summer as part of the Canadian Development Team. The pair faced off against the U.S. in the Development Series.Â
ÂDouble Trouble: Twin sisters Angelina and Lucia DiGirolamo join Princeton from the Bishop Kearney Selects where they were four-time New York state champions.Â
ÂA Fresh Look: Princeton brings in six new Tigers as part of the class of 2028- Brooklyn Nimegeers, Hannah Fetterolf, Rosie Klein, Alexander, and the DiGirolamo sisters.Â
ÂThe Staff: Head coach Cara Morey returns for her eighth season leading the program. Morey owns a 102-70-22 record overall and won her 100th game on Jan. 13, 2024 against Harvard.
Taylor Wenczkowski joins Daniel Gould and Jamie Lundmark on the Princeton coaching staff. Wenczkowski spent the 2023-24 season playing for PWHL Boston in the league's inaugural season. Prior to the PWHL, she played three years in the Premier Hockey Federation for the Boston Pride, winning back-to-back Isobel Cups as the league champion in 2021 and 2022.Â
Series History: The Tigers own a 67-20-4 record versus the Bulldogs and a 55-30-4 record against the Bears. In the most recent meetings in the 2023-24 season the Tigers finished with a 1-1 tie against both Yale and Brown.
