Black Out Baker Set For Women’s Hockey As Team Hosts Colgate, Cornell

PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton women's hockey team had the weekend off after getting the first two conference wins of the season against Harvard and Dartmouth. The Tigers will be back at Baker Rink to take on the No. 5 Colgate Raiders on Nov. 22 and the No. 10 Cornell Big Red on Nov. 23. The games are set for 6:00 PM and 3:00 PM respectively.

Black Out Baker: The team will host its annual Black Out Baker game on Friday versus the Raiders. The first 200 students at the game will receive a Black Out Baker t-shirt.
Last Time Out: Princeton picked up the team's first two ECAC wins of the season against Harvard and Dartmouth. The Tigers scored nine goals across the weekend with Emerson O'Leary, Angelina DiGirolamo and Katherine Khramtsov each finding the back of the net twice.
Wunder-ful Issy: Issy Wunder has been a consistent force for the Tigers. The senior leads the team in points with 14 and has a +9 rating.
Power Play Paul: Sarah Paul scored her first career hat trick on opening night against Robert Morris, all coming on the power play. The junior forward has eight total goals on the season with six coming on the offensive advantage.
Rookies Are Rocking: Mackenzie Alexander is currently second on the team high in points with 13 points from four goals and nine assists. Thanks to strong performances through her first four collegiate games, Alexander was named the ECAC Rookie of the Month for October. She was also named the Rookie of the Week after recording four assists in the games against Harvard and Dartmouth.
Princeton In the PWHL: Sarah Fillier '24 was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft by the New York Sirens. She notched 30 goals and 13 assists in her senior season with Princeton. Claire Thompson '20 was selected third overall by PWHL Minnesota and earned second-team All-Ivy and third-team All-ECAC honors in her final year with the Tigers in 2020.
Canada Connection: Mackenzie Alexander and Sarah Paul teamed up on the ice together this summer as part of the Canadian Development Team. The pair faced off against the U.S. in the Development Series.
Double Trouble: Twin sisters Angelina and Lucia DiGirolamo join Princeton from the Bishop Kearney Selects where they were four-time New York state champions.
A Fresh Look: Princeton brings in six new Tigers as part of the class of 2028- Brooklyn Nimegeers, Hannah Fetterolf, Rosie Klein, Mackenzie Alexander, and the DiGirolamo sisters.
The Staff: Head coach Cara Morey returns for her eighth season leading the program. Morey owns a 102-70-22 record entering the 2024-25 season and won her 100th game on Jan. 13, 2024 against Harvard. Taylor Wenczkowski joins Daniel Gould and Jamie Lundmark on the Princeton coaching staff. Wenczkowski spent the 2023-24 season playing for PWHL Boston in the league's inaugural season. Prior to the PWHL, she played three years in the Premier Hockey Federation for the Boston Pride, winning back-to-back Isobel Cups as the league champion in 2021 and 2022.
Series History: Princeton and Colgate met twice in the 2023-24 season with the Raiders picking up wins in both matchups. The Tigers and Big Red split their two games last season with the visitors winning in each meeting. In last year's win over then ranked No. 6 Cornell, Sarah Paul scored the game winning goal in the third period to give Princeton its first ranked win of the season.
