Wunder's Hat Trick Helps Tigers to 11th Straight Win
January 10, 2026 | Women's Ice Hockey
To cap a five-goal weekend, Issy Wunder turned in a hat trick at RPI on Saturday afternoon as the No. 9-ranked Princeton women's hockey team was a 4-0 winner over the Engineers in Troy.
Wunder's hat trick lifted her to 61 career goals, 18 this season, and 133 career points, with 30 of those coming this season. It was her second hat trick in a span of three games, along with a four-goal game against Stonehill last weekend, and it extended Wunder's goal-scoring streak to five games, a run in which she has 12 goals among 16 points during that time.
Wunder's point-scoring streak stands at 11 games, which is exactly as long as Princeton's winning streak stands, making it the second-longest winning streak in program history and longest in 20 years. A sweep next weekend, when the Tigers return home to host Harvard and Dartmouth, would set the program record. Princeton will have a league-best 28 standings points entering next weekend, standing atop ECAC Hockey with a four-point lead over second-place Yale.
Wunder opened the scoring just 76 seconds into the game with a rebound goal, and after a feed from Mackenzie Alexander along the wall set up a blast from near the right faceoff dot, Wunder's second goal gave Princeton a 2-0 lead with less than four minutes to go in the opening frame.Â
Maggie Johnson made the lead 3-0 in the closing seconds of the first period by threading one through from along the left half wall, and Wunder had her hat trick in the first minute of the second period when she made a dash along the goal line and tucked it home for a 4-0 lead.
Taylor Hyland made 18 stops to get the shutout in the Tiger net, and Alexander and Megan Healy had two helpers apiece.Â
