The final full day in Italy for the Princeton men's basketball team was set on a mountain lake ringed by small towns within a mile or two of the Swiss border.
Tuesday began with breakfast overlooking Lake Como followed by a boat tour of the lake that included an hour-long stop in Bellagio, a hilly town of shops and grand homes, and two hours in Como, located at the south end of the lake that bears its name.
After a quick bus ride back to Cernobbio, home to the team's hotel, and a few hours of free time, the team marked the end of the trip with dinner and looking back on the memories formed during the 10 days in Italy.
Wednesday will bring an early start and a long flight home after a trip that saw the Princeton contingent begin in Rome two Sundays ago and make their way through Florence, Bologna, Venice, Vicenza and finally the shores of Lake Como. Along the way, the 15 Tiger players on the trip battled three Italian professional teams, getting two wins, one of which required a 21-point fourth quarter comeback before an overtime triumph, and one overtime defeat.
