Princetons Looks To Clinch Outright Ivy Title At Penn Saturday

Princeton, N.J. - The No. 14 Princeton Tigers will look to clinch the outright Ivy League title on the road at Penn. Princeton has won 12 straight and 22 of the last 23 against the Quakers. The game will take place on Saturday (Nov. 4) and start at 12 p.m.
What's Going On?
- Last Saturday, the Tigers (10-6, 6-0 Ivy) used a hat trick from Ryan McCarthy in its 5-1 takedown of the Cornell Big Red (8-6, 2-4 Ivy) on Senior Day at Bedford Field.
- McCarthy saved her best performance for her final home game as she recorded her first career hat trick in the victory. She now has a team-leading 15 goals this season and jumped into the program's top-10 in career points (95), combined goals and assists (59) and goals (41). She would later be honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week for the third time this year.
- With the victory, Princeton clinched a share of the Ivy League championship, its 25th all-time, and the Ivy's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It will be the 22nd time that the Tigers have made the Big Dance.
- For the fourth straight week, Princeton remained at No. 14 in the Penn Montco/NFHCA Coaches' Poll.
- The Tigers lead the all-time series, 27-15-3.
- Princeton was won 22 of the last 22 meetings vs. Penn, including a current streak of 12-in-a-row.
- Princeton has taken down Penn 11 straight times in Philadelphia. The Quakers' last win vs. the Tigers at home was in 1993.
- The Quakers' last winning streak vs. Princeton was a five-game stretch from 1989-93.
- Cat Caro '16 and Ellen Dobrijevic '16 combined for seven points as No. 18 Princeton defeated Penn, 6-1, at Bedford Field on Senior Day.
- Less than 23 seconds after the Quakers tied the contest at 1-all, Princeton went on the attack as Rachel Park ripped a shot by the Penn goalie on the next possession down the field.
- The Tigers got some offense going on a corner right before the half as Maddie Bacskai blasted an attempt in to make the score, 3-1. The Tigers finished the first stanza with a two-goal advantage and 8-4 lead in shot attempts.
- Princeton added three more in the second half to earn the victory.
- Penn is 9-7 this year and 4-2 in the Ivy League. The Quakers have two wins over top-25 teams in No. 22 American (Sept. 24) and No. 10 Syracuse (Oct. 22).Â
- Alexa Hoover leads the team with 11 goals and eight assists for 30 points while Gina Guccione ranks second on the squad with seven goals and one assist for 15 points.
- Hoover is the program's all-time leader in in goals (67) and points (161) and holds single-season records in both categories.
