PRINCETON, N.J. – Ivy League play rolls along for the Princeton University men's basketball team, the only Ivy team that remains undefeated, with a pair of road contests at Brown and the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, January 14, and Monday, January 16.
Last Time Out
The Tigers earned the weekend sweep and moved to 3-0 in Ivy play with a 75-68 victory over Cornell in Ithaca, New York, on Saturday, January 7, inside Newman Area.

Senior Ryan Langborg led all scorers with 20 points, and went 9-for-10 from the free throw line with his nine made free throws a career-best. Senior Tosan Evbuomwan contributed 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting, a game and career-high nine assists, and seven rebounds. Freshman Deven Austin added a career-high 15 points on 5-for-5 shooting, and junior Matt Allocco had 11 points, going 2-for-3 from deep. Freshman Caden Pierce had a double-double with a career-high 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting, and pulled down game and season-high 13 rebounds. Pierce's five made field goals were a career-high, and he has now recorded a double-digit rebounding total three times in 2022-23.

Princeton's victory over Cornell marked 100 regular-season Ivy League wins for Franklin C. Cappon-Edward C. Green '40 Head Coach Mitch Henderson. He became the eighth Ivy League men's basketball coach to reach the milestone, and the second from Princeton as Pete Carril sits atop the list with 310 regular-season conference wins.

With 197 wins as a Head Coach, Mitch Henderson is three wins away from 200 career wins. He is currently third all-time in wins at Princeton; Franklin (Cappy) Cappon is second with 250, and Pete Carril first with 514.

200 Assists For Evbuomwan
In the first half of Princeton's game against Iona on Tuesday, December 13, Â Evbuomwan found Caden Pierce for the 200th assist of his career, and ended the game with 206 total in his career. Evbuomwan's 142 assists in the 2021-22 season were No. 2 all-time at Princeton, trailing only William F. Ryan's 161 assists in the 1983-84 season.

The 2022 Ivy League Player of the Year
Evbuomwan has had a strong start to the 2022-23 season, ranking first on the team and seventh in the Ivy League in scoring with 12.6 points on 50.0% shooting. He also leads the team in rebounding and ranks sixth in the conference with 6.3 per game, leads the team in assists and ranks second in the Ivy League with 4.3 and is tied for first on the team in steals with 11.

100 Made Threes For Langborg
With 122 made three-pointers in his career, Langborg ranks No. 15 all-time in school history for made three-pointers. This was accomplished in a shortened 2019-20 season and no 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, 22 Tigers have exceeded 100 made three-pointers in their career. Langborg is also averaging 12.5 points per game, which ranks second on the team and ninth in the Ivy League, and his 2.2 three-pointers per game rank fifth in the conference. Additionally, Langborg's 66 made three-pointers in the 2021-22 rank No. 13 all-time at Princeton for most made three-pointers in a season.

A Presence Inside
Kellman has provided the Tigers with a reliable presence inside in 2022-23, averaging 10.3 points (No. 4 on the team) on 63.5% shooting (No. 1 in the Ivy League) along with 4.8 rebounds. He has scored in double digits in eight games, and 14 blocked shots rank seventh in the Ivy League.

Allocco Steps Up
Allocco has taken his game to another level this season, and ranks third on the team in scoring with 9.9 points on 48.0% shooting from the field and 41.9% shooting from three, which ranks No. 3 in the Ivy League. He also ranks second on the team and tenth in the conference in rebounding with 5.5, second in assists with 37 and is tied for first in steals with 11.
Ivy Rookie of the Week
Freshman Caden Pierce was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, January 9. He averaged 9.0 points and a team-high 10.5 rebounds per game in the Tigers' wins over Cornell and Columbia.
In Princeton's victory over the Big Red, Pierce recorded a double-double with a career-high 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting, a game and career-high 13 rebounds and one assist. Pierce's five made goals and his 11 defensive rebounds were also career-highs, while his 13 rebounds tied the Tigers' single-game high in 2022-23 . Against Columbia, he finished with a game-high eight rebounds, one block, and one steal.
Pierce is the second Tiger to be named Rookie of the Week, as freshman Xaivian Lee earned the conference's top weekly honor for newcomers on Monday, November 28, 2022.
Crashing The Boards
The Tigers have been one of the best rebounding teams in the nation so far in 2022-23, with their 30.25 defensive rebounds per game ranking No. 4 in the nation. Princeton's rebound margin of 9.2 also ranks No. 5 nationally, and the Tigers rank No. 15 in the nation in rebounds per game, averaging 40.12.

The Tigers' Effective field goal percentage of 54.6% ranks No. 42 in the country, and the Tigers' field goal percentage of 47.4% ranks No. 46 nationally.

Following a 69-50 victory over Brown on Friday, February 18, 2022, inside the Pizzitola Sports Center, the Tigers clinched a spot in the Ivy League Tournament. It marked the fourth time the Tigers have clinched a spot in the Ivy League Tournament in its five years of existence.

Senior Drew Friberg tied for the game-high in points with 15, going 5-for-8 from the field, and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Langborg also scored 15 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the field and 3-for-6 from three, while also pulling down six rebounds. Senior Jaelin Llewellyn added 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, and Evbuomwan finished with nine points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

Princeton won the 2021-22 Ivy League Championship outright on Saturday, March 5, 2022, inside the Palestra, upending Penn 93-70 in a contest that saw senior Llewellyn join the 1,000-point club. The Tigers' outright Ivy League title came on the back of a 12-2 record in conference play.
