BRIDGEWATER, MASS.- The Princeton women's hockey team wrapped up the road weekend with its second matchup against the Stonehill Skyhawks. The Tigers claimed a 5-0 victory on Friday night and were ready to end the week with a third win.
Stonehill came out firing in an attempt to avoid a second shutout. Lily Barrett scored just two minutes into the contest off her own rebound.
That score would not stand for long as less than 30 seconds later, Issy Wunder would knot the game up at 1-1 with Mackenzie Alexander and Emerson O'Leary recording the assists.
Coming out of the timeout, Princeton won the faceoff and immediately capitalized. Rosie Klein scored her first career goal to give the Tigers the lead.
The 2-1 score stood at the end of the first period.
Sarah Paul found the back of the net for the first time in the game on a pass from Jane Kuehl to bump the advantage to two goals. The junior forward scored another in the period, again from Kuehl for her fourth multi-goal game of the season.
Wunder went on to follow suit for her second goal of the game in the closing minutes of the second period. Wunder pushed the pace going into the final frame with a quick goal 51 seconds in for her first career hat trick.
Emerson O'Leary joined in on the action after recording the assist and scored a goal of her own to make it a 7-1 game.
Wunder was back on the offensive and tallied yet another goal for four in the matchup before Ellie Marcovsky scored her first goal of the season to make it 9-1 in Princeton's favor.
A few moments later, it was none other than Wunder with her fifth goal of the game, the most in a single game since 1995 and the third most in program history.
Maggie Johnson and Marcovsky added two more to round out the game for a 12-1 Princeton win.
Taylor Hyland made 16 saves in the win. O'Leary and Alexander led the team with six points each. Alexander had six assists in the win, the most in a single game since 2005 and tied for second program history
