Emerson O’Leary Plays Hero In OT Win Over Dartmouth
January 31, 2025 | Women's Ice Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton women's hockey team is no stranger to overtime games. It is also no stranger to game winning goals. Emerson O'Leary found the back of the net for the Tigers overtime 3-2 victory over the Dartmouth Big Green. O'Leary had a stellar performance for Princeton with three points on the night thanks to her goal and two helpers.
The Big Green got the first goal of the night in the first period. Bridget Pringle pushed the puck into the back of the net as Sydney Putrah and Shae Messner.
Katherine Khramtsov and the Tigers answered back in the second on a power play goal. O'Leary and Jane Kuehl recorded the assists on the 21st Princeton power play goal of the season.
Dartmouth was able to take back its lead in the same period with Shae Messner tapping in the goal for the Big Green's second tally of the night.
Cara Morey's squad needed an answer and Issy Wunder did just that. On a bang-bang play from O'Leary and Mackenzie Alexander, Wunder slapped in her 21st goal of the season and tied things up 2-2 in the third period.
O'Leary now leads the Tigers in game winning goals this season with three.
The Tigers will be back at Baker Rink for a matchup with the Harvard Crimson as the team celebrates its annual Denna Day. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
