No. 13/14 Women’s Hockey Ready To Face Dartmouth, Harvard

PRINCETON, N.J.- The No. 13/14 women's hockey team is set to take on two ECAC opponents in Dartmouth and Harvard this weekend at Baker Rink. The last time the Tigers took on these two teams, Princeton picked up two wins and scored nine total goals across the two contests. The team's annual Denna Day along with National Girls and Women in Sport Day will be held on Saturday versus the Crimson.

Last Time Out: The Tigers started off the weekend with a 2-2 tie against the Brown Bears. Sarah Paul scored both goals in the matchup before the Bears ended the shootout 1-0. Princeton earned an important victory over the Yale Bulldogs on its home ice. Jen Olnowich recorded her first shutout of the season in the 3-0 win. Paul, Mackenzie Alexander and Angelina DiGirolamo each scored.
Wunder-ful Issy: Issy Wunder has been a consistent force for the Tigers. The junior is second on the team in goals with 20, leads in points with 40 and has a +25 rating. Wunder picked up both her first Bluebird Hotels ECAC Forward of the Week and Forward of the Month honors and was also named the UCA Player of the Month in November.
Mac Attack: Mackenzie Alexander is one of two players on the Princeton roster with over 30 points and leads the team in assists with 24. Alexander was named the ECAC Rookie of the Month for the third straight month and has added three Rookie of the Week honors. To top it off, Alexander was honored as the back-to-back UCA Rookie of the Month in November and December.
Points For Princeton: Issy Wunder is fourth in the country with 1.74 points per game. Mackenzie Alexander has made her presence known across the collegiate hockey landscape. She leads all freshmen in points, assists and points per game.
The Tigers Man Advantage: The Tigers are currently fourth in the NCAA on the power play. The team owns a 29% success rate on the man advantage and has already scored 20 power play goals compared to 24 total in the 2023-24 season.
Power Play Paul: Sarah Paul scored her first career hat trick on opening night against Robert Morris, all coming on the power play. The junior forward has 24 total goals on the season with a nation leading nine coming on the offensive advantage. Her three goals across the Brown and Yale contests earned Paul her first career Bluebird Hotels ECAC Forward of the Week honors.
Rooks On A Roll: Every first-year player on the Princeton roster has recorded at least one goal and multiple points this season. The six member class has racked up 81 combined points, good for over 32% of the team's total.
Princeton In the PWHL: Sarah Fillier '24 was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft by the New York Sirens. She notched 30 goals and 13 assists in her senior season with Princeton. Claire Thompson '20 was selected third overall by PWHL Minnesota and earned second-team All-Ivy and third-team All-ECAC honors in her final year with the Tigers in 2020.
Canada Connection: Mackenzie Alexander and Sarah Paul teamed up on the ice together this summer as part of the Canadian Development Team. The pair faced off against the U.S. in the Development Series. Paul competed with the Development team for the Six Nations Tournament in Tampere, Finland from Dec. 11-15.
Double Trouble: Twin sisters Angelina and Lucia DiGirolamo join Princeton from the Bishop Kearney Selects where they were four-time New York state champions.
A Fresh Look: Princeton brings in six new Tigers as part of the class of 2028- Brooklyn Nimegeers, Hannah Fetterolf, Rosie Klein, Mackenzie Alexander, and the DiGirolamo sisters.
The Staff: Head coach Cara Morey returns for her eighth season leading the program. Morey owns a 102-70-22 record entering the 2024-25 season and won her 100th game on Jan. 13, 2024 against Harvard. Taylor Wenczkowski joins Daniel Gould and Jamie Lundmark on the Princeton coaching staff. Wenczkowski spent the 2023-24 season playing for PWHL Boston in the league's inaugural season.
