Preparing for the NCAA Tournament:
- Princeton had nine of the top 25 teams in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Preseason Coaches' Poll on its schedule.
- Head coach Carla Tagliente's squad opened the season with five straight nationally ranked foes, going 3-2.
- Princeton will also take on No. 13 Delaware on Sept. 16, No. 3 Maryland on Sept. 18, No. 21 Boston University on Sept. 30, No. 1 UConn on Oct. 7 and No. 18 Harvard on Oct. 20.
- The Tigers have two alums on the United States national team in Cat Caro '17 and Kathleen Sharkey '13.
- Sharkey has 141 caps for the national squad, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She also helped the national squad to a bronze medal in the Pan American Cup last summer, leading the tournament in scoring with five goals.
- Caro has made 11 appearances for the national team, recording her first cap in January and her first international goal in April.
- Maddie Bacskai, MaryKate Neff and Elise Wong were named to the U.S. U-21 team in July while Sophia Tornetta was picked for the developmental squad.
- Princeton leads the all-time series against Monmouth, 3-0.
- The Tigers have faced the Hawks twice at home (2006, 2007), outscoring them 17-2.
- Allison Evans and Teresa Benvenuti each netted a pair of scores to help lead Princeton to a 4-3 victory over Monmouth in an NCAA Play-In game at So Sweet A Cat Field.
- Upping her career point total to 101, Evans became just the ninth player in program history to surpass the 100-point plateau. Her combined 59 goals and assists currently rank ninth all-time, while her 42 goals are tied for sixth on the Tigers' career charts.
- The Hawks are 2-4 overall, earning wins over Ohio and Hofstra. They have lost against both nationally ranked foes, No. 18 St. Joe's and No. 7 Michigan.
- Monmouth has played in three overtime games, losing its last two including one in a shootout vs. Michigan State.
- Kelly Hanna leads the group with seven points, posting three goals and an assist.
- Seven different players have scored a goal for the team.
- Delaware leads the all-time series, 15-13-3. Princeton is 8-6-1 at home against the Blue Hens.
- The Blue Hens have won four of the last five matchups against the Tigers including the 2016 National Semifinal.
- Princeton's last victory against Delaware was a 4-2 decision in September of 2016.
- No. 3 Delaware used a three-goal burst in the first 12 minutes of the game to drop No. 8 Princeton, 5-3, at Fred P. Rullo Stadium.
- Delaware added an insurance tally as Greta Nauck tapped in her second of the day off a corner with under two and half minutes to go to put the game away.
- Clara Roth led the Tigers with five shots while the Tornetta sisters and Ryan McCarthy each had at least two shots each. Grace Baylis made five saves in the loss.
- The Blue Hens are 3-3 on the season, picking up victories over No. 24 Ohio State, Miami (OH), and American. Delaware has dropped contests vs. No. 18 St. Joe's, No. 8 Louisville and No. 3 Maryland.
- Lizzie Gaebel was selected as CAA Rookie of the Week this week after registering seven saves in her debut at No. 3 Maryland Saturday and her first career shutout with one save against American.
- Greta Nauck leads the team with six points (two goals, two assists). Five different players have snagged at least two goals.
