No. 3 Princeton Welcomes Back Alumnae For Contest Vs. Brown Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 3 Princeton Tigers begin the stretch run of Ivy League action as they welcome the Brown Bears to Bedford Field on Saturday (12 p.m.).

What's Going On:
- The game vs. Brown is also a celebration of the program's alumnae. There will be pregame and post-contest tailgates as the team welcomes back its supportive alumnae!
- No. 5 Princeton broke through with three second half goals to take control and earn a 4-0 victory over Columbia at the Columbia Field Hockey Complex on Oct. 5.
- Clara Roth posted her sixth career multi-goal game and her second of the season against the Lions. She also helped on another goal, finishing with five points.
- The Tigers dominated throughout the Ivy matchup, outshooting the Lions, 33-6, and picking up a 19-2 advantage in corners. Columbia was held without a shot for the first 26 minutes of the second half.
- Princeton rolled over No. 3 UConn, 5-2, at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex on Oct. 7.
- It was the first time that the field hockey team had won on the road against UConn since 2002. The Tigers' five goals were also the most that the Huskies have allowed since Oct. of 2013.
- The Tigers lead the Ivy League in penalty corners per game (8.0). They are second in defensive saves (four), assists per game (2.38), goals against average (1.20), goals per game (3.15), points per game (8.69) and scoring margin (1.87).
- Princeton's highest national rank (No. 9) is in winning percentage (.769) and goals against average.
- MaryKate Neff's three defensive saves are second in the Ivy League and 12th in the country.
- Hannah Davey's 0.54 assists per contest is third among Ivy players.
- Clara Roth's 1.77 points per game are the second most among conference foes.
- Grace Baylis is second in the Ivy League in goals against average (1.20).
- The Tigers have two alums on the United States national team in Cat Caro '17 and Kathleen Sharkey '13.
- Sharkey has 145 caps for the U.S., highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She also helped the unit to a bronze medal in the Pan American Cup last summer, leading the tournament in scoring with five goals.
- Caro has made 15 appearances for the national squad, recording her first cap in January and her first international goal in April.
- Maddie Bacskai, MaryKate Neff and Elise Wong were named to the U.S. U-21 team in July while Sophia Tornetta was picked for the developmental squad.
- Princeton is 32-8-1 all-time against Brown.
- The only time (18-1) that the Tigers have lost at home to the Bears was during the 1984 season.
- Currently, the program was won 18 straight games against Brown.
- Behind eight different goal scorers, No. 14 Princeton defeated Brown, 11-1, at Goldberger Field.
- Â Princeton's 11 goals were tied for the second most in a single-game in program history. The team's 28 points in the contest are the fifth highest in a single-game ever.
- Clara Roth and Julianna Tornetta snagged two goals and two assists each to lead Princeton. Taylor Nolan had two goals in the game, the first two of her career. Nine different players posted a point in the victory.
- The Tigers finished the game with a 36-1 shot advantage and 9-0 lead in penalty corners. 15 different players took a shot for Princeton.
- The Bears are 4-7 this season and 0-3 in the Ivy League.
- Brown has earned wins vs. Bryant, New Hampshire, Georgetown and Sacred Heart. The Bears lost by one goal to No. 11 Harvard.
- Gina Openshaw leads the Bears in goals (six) while Dani van Rootselaar's 14 points (five goals and four assists) is the best on the unit.
- Brown has been outshot 166-105 including an 85-33 mark in the first half.
